Android Studio – Ubuntu 16.10

Enable VT-x in bios

egrep -c vmx /proc/cpuinfo

sudo apt install cpu-checker

kvm-ok

sudo apt install virt-manager

sudo apt install qemu-system

virsh -c qemu:///system list

glxinfo

sudo apt install mesa-utils

glxinfo

Note: If you are running a 64-bit version of Ubuntu, you need to install some 32-bit libraries with the following command:

sudo apt install libc6:i386 libncurses5:i386 libstdc++6:i386 lib32z1 libbz2-1.0:i386

Unpack android-studio-ide-143.2915827-linux.zip >>> android-studio

sudo mv ~/Downloads/android-studio /usr/local/

cd /usr/local/android-studio/bin

./studio.sh

Tip: Add android-studio/bin/ to your PATH environment variable so you can start Android Studio from any directory.

nano ~/.profile

Add PATH:
export ANDROID_STUDIO_HOME=/usr/local/android-studio
export PATH=$PATH:$ANDROID_STUDIO_HOME/bin

If AVD does not load:

mv /home/kimathi/Android/Sdk/tools/lib64/libstdc++/libstdc++.so.6 libstdc++.so.6.bak
